Lindsay Lohan: Playing Junior Gotti's wife

LiLo is joining the big screen Gotti family as the wife of John Gotti Jr. in a biopic of one of New York's most infamous families.

She called her casting in "Gotti: Three Generations" a huge honor and told The Associated Press on Wednesday that the film is an opportunity to prove herself as an actress again.

She said::
"I'm really excited to be back on set and clear up all the misinterpretations about me and show this is what I love to do," 
John Travolta has been cast to play John Gotti Sr., the mob family's patriarch who had a flair for style and a knack for avoiding convictions that earned him the name "Teflon Don." Joe Pesci will play one of his deputies.

The younger Gotti has insisted he left the mob life in the 1990s, but has been unsuccessfully tried four times on racketeering charges.
He sold the rights to his life story to Fiore Films, which is developing the film focusing on Junior Gotti's relationship with his father. It will be shot in New York and is set for a 2012 release.
LiLo made a surprise appearance at a press conference last week and was expected to be in the running to play the elder Gotti's daughter, Victoria. By Wednesday discussions for She playing that role had ended, but the actress successfully lobbied to remain on the project.
"I think it's such an iconic story," lindsay told the AP. "I think it's a great story to be told. I'm honored to be working with John Travolta and Joe Pesci."

Lohan's role as Kim Gotti has parallels to her own life, she said.
"You don't get to see the heart behind the story and the real side of people," she said of most mob movies, which she said veer toward shoot-'em-up fare.
 "I can relate to that because I think that I've been portrayed in a certain light. I just want to do my best to show what their family really went through."
Like the Gotti family, Lohan is no stranger to criminal troubles. She faces a felony grand theft case in Los Angeles after a jewelry store accused her of stealing a $2,500 necklace, and is due in court for a hearing on Friday.
She has rejected two plea deals in that case with guaranteed jail time, and could be incarcerated for violating her probation on a 2007 drunken driving case.
She said her legal troubles won't be a distraction.

"I think in the past, I had a lot of distractions," she said. "I've learned a lot. I've lived a lot. When I'm on set, it's about the film."
In addition to the Gotti project, Lohan will also appear in "Mob Street," a movie based on a screenplay by Chazz Palminteri.
"We're very pleased to have Lindsay on-board for both of these films," said Marc Fiore, who is executive producer of the "Gotti" film. "She has been very enthusiastic about the Gotti project, and after resuming discussions with her, we were impressed by her commitment to the film and felt she would be the perfect Kim Gotti."
Lohan also said she is excited about filming in her native New York.
"The energy of filming there , it just brings so much more life to the film," she said.

Elizabeth Banks :: Studded cast of 'The Hunger Games'

Elizabeth Banks, the American actress and star of '30 Rock', is reportedly in talks to join the star-studded cast of 'The Hunger Games'. She is being tipped to play the role of 'Effie Trinkett', a pink haired executive who works for the company running the gladiatorial games, according to 'The Wrap'.

Elizabeth Banks, best known for her roles in 'Zack and Miri Make a Porno' and 'Role Models' is said to be the first choice of director Gary Ross, who has been given the job of adapting Suzanne Collins' bestselling novel. If she signs on to the picture, she would join Oscar nominee Jennfer Lawrence, who has already landed the role of 'Katniss Everdeen', Josh Hutcherson who will play 'Peeta' and the Australian actor Liam Hemsworth who is cast as 'Gale'. The film's production company 'Lionsgate' announced two more additions to the cast on Monday (18th April 2011), confirming that Hollywood newcomers Dayo Okeniyi and Amandla Stenberg will play 'Thresh' and 'Rue' respectively.
 'The Hunger Games' follows the story of a United States that has collapsed and is replaced by a nation named 'Panem', which is divided into 12 official districts. The title refers to a brutal televised event whereby children are forced to fight to the death.
Elizabeth Banks recently completed filming the forthcoming drama movie 'Welcome to People', which is scheduled for release in 2012.

Demi Lovato : Quiting "Sonny With a Chance"

Singing  Star Demi Lovato is leaving "Sonny With a Chance," the Disney Channel TV series that made her a star.
In an interview with People magazine, Lovato said she didn't "think going back to 'Sonny' would be healthy for my recovery." Instead, she said she wants to focus on her music career.
The 18-year-old entered a treatment facility for three months last year to deal with what were termed emotional and physical issues.
In a statement Tuesday, Disney Channel said it respects Lovato's decision to focus on her music and "not immediately" return to acting. "Sonny" will continue airing as a spinoff titled "So Random," with the original show's cast, guest stars and musical acts, Disney said.

The company also offered its support while Lovato works to "improve her health and bounce back from adversity."
In an interview airing Friday on "Good Morning America" and "20/20," Lovato recounted developing an eating disorder as an 8-year-old who faced bullying. She later started cutting her wrists to vent her despair, she said.

"I've spoken openly about being bullied throughout the past few years, but one thing that I've never been able to feel comfortable talking about was the effects that it had on my life, afterwards," Lovato told ABC News' Robin Roberts.

"I literally didn't know why they were being so mean to me," she said. "And when I would ask them why, they would just say, `Well, you're fat.'"While undergoing treatment at a residential facility in Illinois, Lovato said she was sustained by thoughts of her younger sister, Madison, who plays the daughter of Eva Longoria's character on ABC's "Desperate Housewives."
"A picture of my little sister ... was one of the main things that kept me going," Lovato said. "I just kept thinking, `OK, set this example for your little sister.'"
She said also wants to set an example for other young girls facing the challenges she's battling to let them know "it doesn't have to be this way."

Vanessa Hudgens :: Mystrious substance in the hands

American actress Vanessa Hudgens was photographed licking a "mysterious white substance" off her finger at the Coachella Music Festival.
She was attending the festival in Indio, California, with the actor Josh Hutcherson.
Hudgens and her reported boyfriend, who recently starred in 'The Kids Are Alright', soaked up the blistering sunshine and enjoyed some of the festival's 170 musical acts, including The Strokes, Arcade Fire, Lauryn Hill, Bright Eyes and Pj Harvey.
 Hudgens and Hutcherson, who appear together in the forthcoming adventure movie 'Journey 2', were spotted drinking in the Vip tent at the 3-day festival and were photographed numerous times throughout the weekend.
 The image in question which appears on Gawker.com and shows Hudgens licking a white powder from her fingertip, has caused a stir across Twitter and other social networking sites but the actress has yet to comment on the matter.
Vanessa Hudgens was joined by a number of A-listers at this year's festival, including Kate Bosworth, Lindsay Lohan, Usher, Katy Perry, Kate Hudson, Dita Von Teese and Paris Hilton.

Audrina Patridge :: New Boyfriend

Reality TV star and model Audrina Patridge and her new polo player boyfriend Nic Roldan are in the getting to know each other phase.

Nic texted Radar Online stating,

“We are just talking at the moment. Been going on for a couple of weeks :) She is really great. (sic)”

“It’s blossoming. They’re getting to know each other and they’re having a lot of fun together,” a source said.

Meanwhile Patridge is gearing up for her new reality TV show "Audrina" she says,

“My family, there really aren’t any secrets. We’re pretty open about everything. It’s really what you see is what you get.it’s something where on camera they’re the same as they are off camera.”

Abigail Breslin :: New blonde hair

Teen Superstar Actress Abigail Breslin goes blonde. The Former Brunette switched things up for an upcoming movie. She donned her new do at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Hot Pink Party on Thursday night in New York City.

“She went blonde for a [movie] role,” Scott Peper, senior colorist at the Oscar Blandi Salon in NYC, told Us Weekly.

“Plus, the color is a soft pale shade, not a bright gold shade like Lindsay Lohan. It looks natural and age-appropriate.”
